At the direction of SDDS President Dr. Paul Teplitsky, the Constitution & Bylaws Committee, chaired by Dr. Phyllis Merlino, completed the first full revision of the Constitution & Bylaws in more than 10 years. After four months of careful review, the Committee updated outdated language, streamlined committee structures, clarified roles and responsibilities, and modernized provisions to better serve members.

The New York City Health Department has added fixed penalties for Chapter 7 of Title 24 of the Rules of the City of New York to set the monetary penalties for certain violations regarding radiation control under the NYC Health Code Article 175. These changes will apply to NYC dentists.

On November 14, 2024, the following members were elected at the November Membership Meeting at the Dyker Beach Golf Course for elective positions beginning January 1, 2025. The 2024 President Elect, Dr. Paul Teplitsky, will become the President of the Second District Dental Society effective January 1, 2025 succeeding the 2024 President, Dr. Tricia Quartey-Sagaille.
