Synopsis:
This presentation will focus on the relationship between periodontal treatment and aesthetic restorative dentistry. More than ever, patients are mesmerized by social media dentistry and wish to emulate these smiles. These comprehensive cases require a multidisciplinary approach, accurate diagnoses and treatment planning, as well as skilled execution. This lecture will focus on several key periodontal procedures, including soft tissue augmentation and crown lengthening, and how these procedures can enhance restorative outcomes. Upon successful completion of this lecture, attendees will:
- Diagnose, treatment plan, and execute basic periodontal surgical principles.
- Learn to identify fundamental restorative and surgical principles.
- Learn to identify discrepancies in gingival harmony.
- Learn how periodontal therapy can enhance restorative outcomes.
- Be able to discuss treatment options with the patient.

SEJNDI RUSI, D.D.S. is a Bay Ridge native. She graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Binghamton, where she majored in biological sciences, after which she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD). During her training at NYUCD, she received numerous awards and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, graduating at the top of her class. Dr. Rusi continued her post-doctoral training at NYUCD, specializing in periodontics and implant dentistry. In addition to ther rigorous training, she served as chief resident and was awarded for outstanding service to her class. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, board certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Rusi is a clinical instructor at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she teaches dental residents about periodontal surgery and implants.
