The Second District Dental Society is the local component of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association representing 1,400 member dentists in Brooklyn and Staten Island. It is our hope that this website provides our members with information that will aid them in making the most out of their membership. At the direction of SDDS President Dr. Paul Teplitsky, the Constitution & Bylaws Committee, chaired by Dr. Phyllis Merlino, completed the first full revision of the Constitution & Bylaws in more than 10 years. After four months of careful review, the Committee updated outdated language, streamlined committee structures, clarified roles and responsibilities, and modernized provisions to better serve members.

No. 1379, a bill that proposes removing fluoride from New York City’s municipal drinking water and dismantling one of the most significant public health achievements of the past century.
