Synopsis:
Diagnosis and treatment planning of complex cases requires much study. Evolving areas of literature in the endodontic, periodontic and prosthodontic fields contribute to changes in our understanding of diagnosis and treatment planning. New medications and technologies change the way we treatment plan and look at cases, while allowing patients to see a preview of a completed plan before even altering a tooth in the patient's mouth.

This course will focus on historical concepts and modern advances that have occurred in the dental literature and practice that affect the way we as dentists make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. Areas to be addressed will be:

  1. Pharmacology, CAMBRA and how this affects our decision making
  2. Advances in digital dentistry and smile design and their use in treatment planning
  3. Historical concepts in diagnosis and treatment planning that still hold true today
  4. How to incorporate "crown down" or "root/implant up" treatment planning into your practice
  5. Treatment planning by prognosis
  6. Ethical issues in presentation of treatment plans and informed consent

Upon successful completion of this webinar, participants will be able to incorporate principles of modern diagnosis and treatment planning into their practices.
