He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine\, serving as the class vice president. Subseque ntly\, he completed an integrated six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where\, in additi on to his oral surgery certificate\, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degr ee from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. During this tim e\, he received rigorous training in dentoalveolar surgery\, facial trauma \, internal medicine and surgical intensive care. Dr. Goodenough also comp leted a one-year internship in general surgery\, where he gained experienc e in managing medically complex and critically ill patients. In his final year of residency\, he served as chief resident and was selected for the R esident of the Year award in the Department of Dental and Oral Maxillofaci al Surgery\, an award which recognizes outstanding dedication\, service an d professional excellence.
