These types of complications\, which relate specifically to the restoration itself\, are distinct from surgical complications and con cerns about implant survival. As restorative dentists\, we are likely to e ncounter prosthetic complications of implant restorations whether or not w e planned and completed these restoration ourselves\, as patients may deve lop these issues any time during the lifespan of the restoration. The lec ture will cover the causes of complications\, such as prosthetic fractures \, screw loosening\, gingival issues and esthetic compromises. It will als o discuss strategies to address and avoid these clinical situations. This lecture will stress the importance of communication and coordination betwe en the surgical and restorative teams for successful treatment planning an d execution of implant restorations. She c urrently works in private practice in Brooklyn and Manhattan and she spent one year teaching at the general practice residency program at Brookdale Hospital as the attending prosthodontist.
