New York State Prescription Form Program
The New York State Health Department, in a statewide effort to prevent prescription fraud and protect the public health, began notifying every New York licensed health professional back in December 2004 of new regulations and directions regarding issuing prescriptions on official NY State prescription forms and registration of practitioners and offices/facilities where prescriptions are written.
Effective April 19, 2006 (that's NEXT April), the new regulations will go into effect and cover ALL PRESCRIPTIONS, not just prescriptions for controlled substances. You should register as early as possible with the Department of Health so that you can have your new State-issued prescription forms on hand well before next year's deadline. We encourage you to register now!
