Delta Dental Announces New Disocunted Fee Schedule

Delta Dental of New York recently sent a letter to dentists enrolled in its PPO plan that includes a new discounted fee schedule being offered by the company. Some dentists who are not contractors with Delta Dental received this letter in error, according to the company's recorded message.
Dentists who received the letter and do not believe they have a contract to be a participating provider with the company may wish to verify that they are not under contract.
Dentists who are contractors with Delta should request from Delta in writing how patients enrolled in the new discounted plans can be identified in the dental office. Dentists who have negotiated fee schedules that differ from Delta Dental's original standard fees can also contact Delta to establish how fees will be determined for their practices. Regardless, NYSDA, as always, recommends that doctors review their contracts with their own attorneys to determine how this change affects individual contracts.
Dentists under contract wtih Delta Dental who do not wish to accept such enrollees (patients subject to the new, further discounted fees) can opt out and must notify the company in writing by October 16 at the address below:
Delta Dental
Dentist Network Administration and Contracting Department
One Delta Drive
Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
Failure to opt out in writing would result in the dentist's inclusion in Delta's list of dentists participating in this new discounted program. For additional information contact Delta Dental at 800-932-0783, ext. 3058.
